Terms of service

The service

ucontex shows the current status of tools a Slack workspace already uses. It is a status layer, not a hire. It does not file tickets, send mail, write PDFs, or do the work in the tools it reads. Slack is the surface. Home is a feed of facts. @ucontex answers when tagged.

These terms are the agreement between the operator of ucontex.com and the Slack workspace that installs the app. If you click Add to Slack, you are accepting them for that workspace.

The account is the install

There is no ucontex username. Adding the app to Slack creates the tenant. Uninstalling it is how you close the account. The person who clicks through Slack's permission screen is the installer. We record their Slack user id so the workspace can tell who connected a source.

Connecting tools

You connect sources. One person OAuths them. Those connections belong to the workspace, not to that person's private life. Anyone in the Slack can see facts that come back. You represent that you have the right to connect those org tools — repo, CRM, board, billing, shared drive — and that the workspace is allowed to see that status.

Do not connect a personal inbox, a personal calendar, or a personal drive if you do not want colleagues to see that they exist. Personal computer-use collection, when it ships, is a separate opt-in and stays private unless that person promotes a fact.

What you tell us is yours

Titles, amounts, statuses, and the rest of the objects we pull remain the workspace's (and the vendor's) data. We hold a copy so we can show the current record. You can revoke the vendor OAuth at any time. We do not claim copyright in your deals or your pull requests.

What we will not do

• Act as your employee, lawyer, accountant, or the vendor.
• Guarantee that a fact is complete, or that a vendor API was up.
• Post in a channel unless tagged, or until a digest is turned on.
• Join every public channel to read the room.
• Require screen capture or Accessibility access to sign up.

Acceptable use

Do not use ucontex to:

• Connect tools you have no right to connect.
• Watch people who did not opt into personal collection.
• Probe, scrape, or overload the service or a vendor through it.
• Violate Slack's terms or a vendor's terms.
• Store or display anything illegal to hold.

We can uninstall a workspace that does.

Plans

Free is Add to Slack, connected sources, facts on Home, and @ucontex. Pro is $5 per month for more sources, longer keep, and the extras on the pricing page. Prices can change; the page at the time you pay is the price. Either side can stop at the end of a paid month. Uninstalling Slack ends the hosted tenant.

Slack and the vendors

Slack, GitHub, Stripe, Google, HubSpot, Salesforce, Atlassian, GoHighLevel, and any other source are separate services with their own terms. If they revoke our app, change a scope, or go down, facts stop updating. That is not a breach by us. You keep your relationship with them.

Availability

We run a hosted coordinator. We do not sell an uptime percentage. Maintenance, a vendor outage, or a bad token can mean Home is stale. The product is the last record we could store, not a live wire into every API.

Provided as is

The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the extent the law allows. We do not warrant that facts are accurate, complete, or current.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, the operator of ucontex is not liable for lost profits, lost data, replacement costs, or indirect or consequential damages, even if we were told they were possible. Our total liability for a workspace is capped at the amount that workspace paid us in the three months before the claim, or fifty dollars if they paid nothing.

Some places do not allow these limits. In those places, they apply only as far as they can.

Termination

You can uninstall at any time. We can suspend or remove a workspace for abuse, non-payment, or a vendor demand. After that, we delete or anonymize the tenant in the ordinary course, as described in the privacy policy.

Changes

We can update these terms. The date at the top is the current version. Continuing to use the app after a change is acceptance of the new text.
